Robotics-Academy: New exercise on End-to-End Visual Control of an Autonomous Vehicle using DeepLearning.


Hello! My name is Md. Shariar Kabir. This website is a showcase of my work for the Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2025 with JdeRobot. I’m incredibly thrilled to be a part of this program, where I’ll be making meaningful contributions to Robotics-Academy: new exercise on End-to-End Visual Control of an Autonomous Vehicle using DeepLearning by JdeRobot. I will be mentored by L. Roberto Morales and David Pascual-Hernández from JdeRobot.
This year, my primary goal is to develop a new deep learning exercise focused on visual robotic control in the context of Robotics-Academy. We will create a web-based interface that allows users to upload a trained model, which will take camera input from a drone or car and output the linear speed and angular velocity of the vehicle. The controlled robot and its environment will be simulated using Gazebo.
Through the course of this project, I will be documenting my progress, challenges, learnings, and milestones on this website. Here, you will find regular updates, technical insights, as well as reflections on my GSoC journey. Weekly updates of the project will be posted on the blog page.
